Community Based Rehabilitation
Community-based rehabilitation: A strategy for community development with the aim of achieving the achievement of rehabilitation, equality of opportunity and equality among all segments of society.
It also aims to achieve the integration of persons with disabilities in society and to promote their independence and self-reliance. This can be accomplished through the combined efforts of the disabled themselves, their families, their organizations, their communities, and the relevant health, educational, professional and social facilities.
Community-based rehabilitation services at the hospital:
Initial assessment of all entries, up to a maximum of 72 hours.
Assess environmental factors (home, work, school, university etc.), accessibility and safety.
Make the necessary preparation for the patient’s return to work or school if possible.
Referral to the vocational rehabilitation center if the patient’s condition requires and has the possibility and desire.
Communicate with community institutions that provide services for persons with disabilities.
Providing and training assistive tools.
Awareness and family education.
